Melbourne Accommodation 2010

Article by Jasmine Zahara

Melbourne is a great place to go on vacation or business. Your trip, however, will be infinitely improved by a quality Melbourne accommodation 2010 that fits your price range and your style. You can get any of the major hotel chains, naturally, but an often cheaper and always cooler option is to pick a native Australian hotel or apartment.

A fad in Australia that is not often used in America is the rental of apartments on a few-day basis. Usually hotel suites are the closest thing people can get to this. Darling Towers is just that: a darling accommodation with fairly cheap suites or apartments. The only restriction is that it must be a more-than-one-night stay. It is good for large families especially.

The apartments have high star ratings and come in many different sizes. You can have a single bedroom or you can share an apartment with two other couples, each with your own area. It has a kitchen, which makes it easy if you don’t always want to dine out, and a two car driveway so you don’t have to take taxis everywhere.

Other apartments for short rent tend to be a little more on the tourist side, but if you are a tourist looking to be close to major attractions, then these are probably what you are going to be interested in. One is called Punt hill Serviced Apartments and another is City Edge Apartments. Both are highly recommendable.

If you are looking for the classic hotel, Melbourne offers the delightfully classic, posh Enterprize Hotel. The furnishings are of simple yet extreme luxury and the building itself is beautiful. It is therefore surprising to see how affordable it is per night. It has all the classic activities and facilities of a hotel of good breeding, but includes a few specialty bars and restaurant areas inside. It is a secure area, protecting your car, offering safety deposit services, and a multi-lingual staff for your ease.

The Kingsgate Hotel is a couple of steps down from the Enterprize in price and quality–but that is not to discredit it. The Enterprize is not necessary for people who will not be staying in their rooms except to sleep. The Kingsgate has a lot of package deals, so it is more affordable. The funny thing is the Kingsgate’s dining area, which is reminiscent of a college dining hall–only very upscale, clean, and new.

The Flagstaff City Hotel is cheaper and does not have much to offer by way of looks. It is just fine–and perfectly clean and safe–for all travelers, though it does not have the charm of the other two. However, tourists may find that it is very European and quaint in its own way, especially if they are about the city often and have no need for deluxe hotel services.

The Clarion Hotel on Canterbury might end up being your choice for the price. It is only slightly more expensive than the others and is everything a five star hotel should be. It offers standard suites, spa suites, luxury-, presidential-, and king studio-suites, and multi-bedroom apartments. It is a first choice for many weddings and conferences for obvious reasons. If its web page is any indicator of the quality of the hotel, you will be in for a rare treat.
