These are Some of the Ways you Can Maintain your Motor Cycle Tires

For your motor cycle, you will need a custom fit tire. You should remember not to mix radial tires in a motor cycle with non radial tires. You can get motorbike tires either from any authorized dealership stores or on online stores. Normally motor cycle tires are made up of 20 % natural rubber and the remaining with synthetic polymers.

Tire unlimited is one of the web tire dealer who offers tires for any bikes including street bikes, dirt bikes, scooter and moped. You can get the popular brand tires at discount rates from Tire unlimited.

Dunlop motor cycle tires:

Dunlop tires suit most of the motor cycle models. Yet if your vehicle does not get custom fit tires from Dunlop then you can contact them before fitting any tire. This is important because small or big tires for the wheel will provide instability or even accidents. Some motor cycles can be fitted only with radial tires. Then do not use non radial tires for that vehicle. Before replacing the tires with new Dunlop motor cycle tires you should check for the load carrying capability, Rim size etc.

If you want to assemble, motorbike tires then get it done by trained persons to avoid injuries. Improper mounting will also cause tire explosion and accidents. Do not mount passenger car tires to motor cycle rims.

Motor cycle tire inflation maintenance:

Many motor cyclists fail to pay attention to tire maintenance. However, it is an essential task particularly if they use it for touring. The motor cyclists should observe whether the maximum load capacity is corresponding to the inflation pressure. If the tires are under inflated or over inflated, then the motor cyclists will face the difficulty of steering and handling. The under or over inflation also causes over heating, break downs, accidents and even deaths. Therefore, you should check the air pressure at regular intervals. You should also check for any cracks, cuts, or punctures in the tire so that you can remove it immediately.

Sports bike tires:

There are many sports bike tires that you can select one according to your wish. Michelin tires are most suitable for motor bikes engaged in racing. They are made p of soft and grip rubber material that provides high grip on fast riding.

The sports oriented radial tire from Bridgestone is specially designed for high-speed stability and excellent grip. It provides maximum rider comfort. A new silica compound used here provides both wet grip and dry grip. These tires offer smooth operation without noise. You can use them in any climate. It has efficient heat emission capability and thus they can be used for getting high speed.

American Motto tires offer racing tires from various brands. You can get the popular brand tires for your motor cycle at considerable rates here. The technical experts in American Moto tires check for nay blemishes or defects in tires regularly. Therefore you

Can buy defect free tires from here. You can get quality motor cycle tires through online also. You can avail the tire service any time

What Every Motorcycle Owner Needs To Know About Motorcycle Tires

Tires are a very important part of a motorcycle. Without them the motorcycle would not be able to move in the first place. This is why it is very important that every motorcycle owner possesses general knowledge about what they can expect from the tires they plan on using from their vehicle. Choosing the wrong type of tire could adversely affect how the motorcycle drives. It may even cost a motorcycle owner more money, trying to repair flats or replace the tire all together. That’s where this article comes in. From this article motorcycle owners can get a basic overview of what they need to look for when they start investigating which tires are right for their vehicle. All of these guidelines are explained in greater detail below.

Size

To determine the size of a potential set of tires, you need to evaluate their rim width. What does this mean? It means that the tires cannot be any wider or narrower than the initial equipment tires. If they are the handling of your motorcycle could get distorted.

Pressure

The pressure associated with motorcycle tires increases as the temperature rises. This is why motorcycle riders need to regularly check their tires’ pressure, especially during the winter months. They can find specific recommendations on which tire pressures are best for their vehicle by checking out their motorcycle manufacturer’s reference manual. They can also further protect their tires’ pressure by not bleeding air from tires that are hot and/or riding on the tires when they are under-inflated. Doing otherwise wears the tires down prematurely.

Wear Indicator

Motorcycle owners need to periodically check the wear indicator associated with their tire grooves. If the wear indicators are at the same level as the tread’s surface, the tires probably need to be replaced.

Valve Caps

Proper use of valve caps can prevent air from escaping from one’s motorcycle tires. It can also prevent dirt from getting into the valve, improving overall efficiency of the tires.

Warming Up

Start at a moderate speed when you first get on your motorcycle. Doing so helps allow the tires to reach their core operating temperatures in a much smoother manner. When the tires do reach their warm-up, they will offer the best grip for the motorcycle rider.

Breaking In

Don’t accelerate rapidly or use hard cornering techniques once your tires have appropriately warmed up, as this can quickly wear them out. You will want to avoid doing these things for at least 50 kilometers. This is the amount of time/distance it takes for the tread area to be completely worn off.

Getting the Repairs

It is important that you acquire basic knowledge associated with motorcycle repair, so you won’t have to rely on a mechanic should you have problems with your tires or even the vehicle itself. Numerous books and e-books are available to help provide the basics for motorcycle riders who are new to the experience. Some of them are free. Either way, take advantage of the information so you won’t find yourself being stranded if something does go wrong with your motorcycle’s tires.

The Importance Of Having The Right ATV Tires

There is nothing quite so much fun as owning an ATV. Still, many ATV owners don’t realize the importance of the type of ATV tires that are on their fun toy, and that tires can enhance outdoor experiences or ruin them.

For example, where do you plan to take your ATV? Do you want to ride in the desert or the mud? There is a difference in ATV tires, which are made for many different types of off-roading, and believe it or not, they are not the same. Many popular tire companies make ATV tires, including Goodyear, Firestone and Bridgestone, among many others. Some are cheap while others can take a big chunk out of your entertainment budget. However, finding the right tires to suit your needs takes a little time and research.

Goodyear makes a good ATV tire called the Goodyear Tracker Mud Runner for ATV fun in the mud, while Maxxis tires produces iRazr tires for racing. For clearance space under your fun-mobile, especially if you’re off-roading in rocky environments, High Lifter has a tire that’s right up your alley, called the Outlaw.

Having fun with your ATV means equipping it for your needs, and while most ATV tires will hold up fairly well in most environments, if you’re serious about off-roading, it will pay to purchase appropriate tires for different types of terrain.

Most ATV owners start converting their machines almost before they can park them in the garage after purchase, and while many people start revving up engine parts and components, the smart ATV owner will start with the tires. After all, if your tires aren’t appropriate for the particular terrain you’re going to be riding in, it won’t matter how much horsepower you’ve got.

Safety is also an important issue when considering ATV tires, and it’s vital to understand the type of surface you’re intending to ride on, and who’s going to be riding the machine. Will you be riding on soft dirt or in the mud or even snow? Will you be keeping to flat ground, or are you going to participate in hill climbing or competitions that require multi-terrain obstacles?

Make sure that no matter which type of tires, or set of ATV tires, that you purchase for your machine fit the rims properly. Make sure the width of the tire you’re interested in will fit the rim, because if your tire is too narrow, it will come off the rim and prove dangerous for riders. Considering the type of ground clearance you need is also something to watch for, as is the tread pattern.

Riding your ATV can be fun, but it’s also serious business and safety and protection for riders should be your first priority. If you’re not familiar with your ATV, find someone who can offer pointers and tips that will help you purchase what you need. Before you start souping up the engine, make sure that the ATV tires on your machine are adequate for your needs.

Mini ATV Tires

For non-ATV fan, this might sound like reports but for those that are familiar with the workings of ATVs, we know that Mini ATV tires play a huge role in defining the performance of our ride. Fortunately, due to technology, there’s a wide range of Mini ATV tires in the market, therefore, ATV fans are basically quite spoilt for choice. Does it make a difference which Mini ATV Tires you use? Naturally it does.

Some ATV riders insist that they don?t need prime quality Mini ATV tires because they don?t ride in mud all the time,, don?t need special Mini ATV tires for that purpose. But that?s the whole point of getting prime quality Mini ATV tires ? you want one that can literally work effectively in all kinds of conditions. It?s important. You need Mini ATV tires for hard-pack, mud, snow, ice, rocks and trails too.

There are specialty tires that you should buy for your Mini ATV. Mud Mini ATV tires are engineered to handle mud holes while snow Mini ATV tires are engineered to grab and plow through snow and ice. The trail types of Mini ATV tires are made to give ATV riders a smooth a ride as possible and are sometimes really easy to handle be it hard-pack, rocks or slippery surfaces.

If you?ve just gotten yourself some new Mini ATV tires, you should usually mount the Mini ATV tires edges with bead seat safety humps. This is to ensure that there?s resistance to dislodgement or there?s no unexpected deflation when you?re mounting your new Mini ATV tires. Well, if you?re not certain how to mount or use your Mini ATV tires, there?s always the owner?s manual. Oh, we know it?s tedious and if you?ve been riding your ATV for a period of time, you probably know all the ropes. But there?s the thing, it?s better to be safe than regretful. Read the operating pressures and safety instructions sections completely to make sure you know the way to handle your new Mini ATV tires properly. Keep your new Mini ATV tires? owner?s manual for easy reference later on.

Observing the limitations of your Mini ATV tires? Operating pressures is very critical of operating your Mini ATV.

However, this is only possible if you observe rules of using your Mini ATV tires. For example, riding your Mini ATV on paved surfaces is never a brilliant idea. And although you know the way to mount your new Mini ATV tires yourself, it?s best to talk to a professional because only a specifically trained person should mount the atv tires.

Also, my other guide on cheap atv tire.

Flat Motorcycle Tires… Roll Hard!

Motorcycles with flat tires . . . roll hard! If your motorcycle is cruising along at 55 mph and your rear motorcycle tire suddenly deflates [has a blow out!] you now have a tremendously, dangerous challenge ahead of you. Avoiding other vehicles, controlling the steering, a swaying rear-end making everything unstable makes for a sizable victory when you roll off the side of the road and come to a stop. Congratulations, job well done! More riders than not end in an accident or something worse. All because of their motorcycle tires. Who knows your thoughts if it is the front tire to blow? You better be prayed up.

We all want a sharp looking bike. Once you select your make and model, your interest is on chrome, color, accessories, personal appearance, dress etc. but let us not forget about the importance of the rubber motorcycle tires that get us around. Frame, structure and engine all work together and hopefully are worry free for years. Motorcycle tires keep moving and we need to often watch for wear and safety.

There are two critical places that motorcycles need to be checked before each ride or at least once a month. Both are easy to do and both are many times overlooked. One area is brake fluid. If the pedal is mushy, bleed the lines or have someone else do it. Two, motorcycle tires need to be inspected. Why do we forget these?

Our safety depends on it. We trust our life to the two motorcycle tires under us that have at best two patches of rubber in contact with the ground the size of our two hands at any given moment. Move that along at 55 mph or even at 15 mph and each of the motorcycle tires is taking on a serious responsibility. The attention and care we offer towards our motorcycle tires can help us tremendously with our safety and enjoyment of biking.

Here are some areas where things can go wrong with your motorcycle tires:

- Tire Pressure: Under-inflation may cause uneven wear, loss of control [stability], wears the motorcycle tires out faster and increases the chances of the motorcycle tires failure. Over-inflation allows motorcycle tires to heat up, limit traction [although a slight 10% over-inflation may actually increase traction in wet conditions] and affects the wear. To correct these, use a good tire gauge and check the motorcycle tires when it is cool. Keep the motorcycle tires pressure at the recommended PSI.

- Fluids: Brake fluid, gas and lube spills need to be cleaned immediately. It deteriorates the rubber. Many of the cleaner protectants used on motorcycle tires harm the finish rubber. The best way to clean is to use old-fashioned soap and water.

- Bumps: Potholes, curbs and stones may slash or crack the tire. Look for any problem.

- Accelerated wear: Everyday use may be a potential hazard. Spinning motorcycle tires on take off or holding the brake on emergency stops need to be checked.

- Nails, screws etc.: It is better to find them before you ride than to discover these nuisances 20 minutes down the road. Motorcycle tires that use a tube may “pop” from a nail/screw or sharp object, where a tubeless tire may have the nail/screw actually plug the hole they created which gives you a little more time for repairs.

- Valve stems: Make sure the cap is on. It helps to protect the valve stem from leaking air and protects the stem valve from opening by centrifugal force and leaking air at higher speeds. When you use motorcycle tires with tubes, the valve stem should be straight out. If it is on a slant, the tire has been under-inflated and the tube has moved around the rim. Often this damages the tube and creates a leak.

- Tire weights: Weights need to be firmly fixed to the rim. If they fall off it will throw the tire out of balance and cause uneven wear.

- Rim: Cracked or dented rims are potential problems. You may want to replace wire spoke wheels when they become damaged with a cast or billet wheel that uses tubeless tires. Check with your dealer on this.

- Worn/torn: Thin tread is easier to detect. Flat wear is due to leaning very little and driving mostly in a straight line, resulting in a ridge at the edge of the flattened middle of the tire. This causes motorcycle tires to become unstable in a leaning turn. It wants to warble. The tire may have more wear but it should be replaced. [It is good to replace both front tire and rear tire at the same time.] Sidewall punctures, cracking, cord separation are an alert.

- Tread: Check the grooves called “sipes” making sure that the tread is still sufficient. The lack of having tread affects the cooling of the tire when in use, wear, stability, traction and can cause hydroplaning on wet roads.

When doing your inspection of motorcycle tires get a friend to roll the bike while you check the tread and sidewalls. You may need to get a work stand if alone. Obstacles to having a good inspection are long pipes, saddlebags, fenders etc. making it hard to see the rear tire. Front motorcycle tires are a bit easier to examine. This sounds like a lot but it goes quickly and is easy to do. Make it a habit to check your motorcycle tires frequently.

Some miscellaneous information you need to know. You will have better handling and get more out your motorcycles tires when you keep the rear tire aligned and balanced. Consider having this looked at approximately every1000 miles. Be careful when you have new motorcycle tires it takes the first couple of rides to get traction working well.

ATV Wheels And Tires

All ATV wheels have the same characteristic: large defined threads or knobs for better traction in all kinds of terrain, extra durable tear and snag resistant material for the tire bodies to protect it against puncture from sharp objects, and large balloon-like construction to help the wheels avoid small pits and rocks on the trail. It also helps the wheel climb out of any obstacle. And in some cases afford flotation.

When necessity initiated the ATVs invention in Japan, ATV wheels were the deciding factor in its success. Osamu Takeuchi led the development team that was assigned by Honda Research & Development to develop a vehicle suited for winter travel. The outcome was the development team spawning a prototype vehicle with six atv wheels. But still the invention didnt have the cutting edge technology that will enable it to meet the demand.

However, when Osamu Takeuchi got hold of an American invention called the Amphi Cat, the design process quickly hasten to completion. The Amphi Cat had rolled on six 20 inch low pressure high flotation balloon tires, and Osamu Takeuchi revamped his ATV invention until it can accept the Amphi Cats wheel which became the trademark of modern day ATV wheels.

To date, there are various types of ATV wheels that are designed to meet specific terrain conditions. Though most wheel types still work adequately on other terrain, there are such ATV wheels that would perform poorly on a specific terrain. One instance would be the race tires against sand dunes.

Race Tires
Usually developed to create greater traction on different conditions, this wheel type has defined knobs and threads. Also, some of these tires are flatter to afford ample hold on the terrain.

Trail Tires
Trail tires are created to be more durable to defend against punctures against sharp objects such as rocks or wood splinters. Some of these tires are large, balloon-like construction to afford flotation (defense against sinking in bogs and sandy parts) in soggy terrain and mud.

Sand Tires
These tires are also called Paddle Tires since the threads do exactly just that – to paddle. These tires are usually made balloon-like, with few but enormously large threads. The balloon construction will help avoid sinking even in the softest sand and the enormous threads afford traction.
